ROLE OVERVIEW
To provide an excellent first-class service for the client and consumer, and maintain high standards demonstrated by all Freemans Event Partners staff. Customer service skills are essential as you will be facing the public directly for the entirety of your shift serving food and drinks, alongside processing card and cash transactions.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide prompt, accurate service by listening carefully to orders and serving food and drinks correctly
- Learn the menu and be able to recommend options based on customer preferences or dietary needs (e.g. allergies)
- Prepare and serve food and drinks to the required standard, ensuring presentation and taste are consistent and of high quality
- Accurately handle cash and card transactions, promote special offers, and suggest additional products to enhance the customer experience
- Regularly check and restock items such as napkins, straws, cups, and bar supplies to ensure smooth operations
- Work with the team to maintain a clean and presentable working area, including wiping down counters, cleaning glasses, and ensuring general tidiness
- Adhere to all alcohol licensing laws, food hygiene, and Health & Safety guidelines, ensuring full compliance with regulations
- Support colleagues by working in a united and coordinated way
- Assist with closing down the unit, including cleaning, restocking, and following managements lead
- Assist the Manager or Team Leader with additional tasks, such as preparing for events or managing customer flow during busy periods
- Participate in thorough cleaning during setup or close down to maintain a spotless working and serving area
- Be open to other duties to ensure the smooth running of the unit and an excellent customer experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Maintaining customer focus at all times by being approachable, polite & positive
- Exceeding expectations in fulfilling customer needs

- Actively interested in the catering industry- taking pride in your work ensuring food is well presented and served in line with company standards
- Ensuring the highest standard of hygiene, adhering to company dress code at all times
- Abiding by Health & Safety standards at all times
- Communicating with management team, raising any issues and clear communication with your team
- A basic level of numeracy and literacy
Desirable
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience of handling cash and processing transitions
- Working as part of a team well, under pressure
- Have a food hygiene qualification
- Catering and Customer service experience
- You will need bags of stamina, great personality and a flexible attitude, with the ability to remain calm when working under pressure
