ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a 12 month fixed term Sales Team Leader to manage the day to day operation of an internal sales office, to include motivating a sales team in implementing a sales strategy, achieving targets and developing new business
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure sales orders are processed in a timely manner to fulfil customer requests
- Developing targeted telesales campaigns and working with telesales team to set up campaigns that promote weekly offers
- Continuously review, improve, and implement internal processes to increase productivity and support more efficient transactions between all areas of the Sales and Buying teams
- Liaise closely with the Head of Operations to ensure all transport has been planned in accordance with any sales requirements
- Maintain a close relationship with the warehouse manager resolving any delivery/stock issues that will impact on customer sales orders
- To ensure the department is fully utilising all aspects of Sage Line 50
- Assist with the effective use of Excel and Sage Line 50 to process and manage orders and to ensure that changes to orders and deliveries are adjusted correctly
- Produce regular reports as required by sales and commercial manager, demonstrating, and analysing performance of Key Accounts against forecasts, and detailing action being taken
- Collaborate closely with the Buyer’s and Head of Sales to ensure all customer requirements can be fulfilled efficiently
- Attend a weekly Monday meeting with senior management to discuss all matters including stock, customers, aged debt, and all other areas that are of concern
- Maintain an accurate database for all Key Account customers, ensuring all contact details, product preferences, terms and pricing are kept up to date
- Maintain all product and pricing information on central system and individual customer profiles
- Create revised price lists as required and issue to customers as appropriate
- Utilise customer knowledge and feedback to identify and recommend additions to the product portfolio and suggest improvements to pricing and positioning to ensure a sustainable and competitive range of products
- Assist in the creation and production of presentations for customers as required
- Run aged debt reports regularly making sure customers are within their allowed limits and payment due days
- Work closely with the Procurement team to be able to provide absence cover as follows:
- Place onward orders with suppliers and monitor progress, ensuring timely fulfilment
- Provide cover for absent departmental colleagues as required and undertake any other duties that may be required from time to time for the smooth running of the business
- Relationship building to use the skills provided in the training course to build, to help motivate the team into hitting KPI’s and customer service skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Previous experience in an outbound telesales role within a fast-moving market
- Excellent telephone manner and good communicator with the ability to build effective business and customer relationships at a distance
- Good numeracy and literacy ability (minimum GCSE grade B in Maths and English)
- Sound financial understanding and ability to reconcile numbers
- Good negotiation skills with the ability to influence and use persuasive techniques
- Fully ICT literate, competent in all MS Office applications; Excel to at least Intermediate level
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
